Chucked Out !

Wednesday, July 04, 2007

Well, I thought of penning down the ordeal of availing cab service in my company. Though it provides a great help in ease of transportation for all, at times it drains out the patience of most of us. There has been couple of very funny incidents almost every week in this regard!

A Toyota quails is my dedicated pickup vehicle which picks me up in the early hours of the dawn – at around 8.30. This makes me get up early rather than dozing off till 11.00 which seems to be the pattern for weekends. But it has multitude of advantages as reaching early to office and a jump start to the tasks to be worked on. My cab covers some parts of Bangalore and by the time it reaches to pick me up, the backseats would be the only ones vacant. This has been my dedicated spot for the past many weeks, though out of sheer luck in anybody’s absence I get a promotion to one of the seats in the middle row or even to the front seat.

I really get weird thoughts as when the cab is full, it resembles the auto rickshaw which carries kids to school, a well known sight in most parts of India. Everyone is so tightly packed and the strange part would be when anyone’s mobile rings and an attempt to pick up the phone in the midst.

The best scenes are at the evenings when most of us would be searching for the cabs. As the respected transport co-coordinator has a brilliant idea in joining some routes for more efficiency in his terms. This leads to utter confusion with the cab drivers refusing to the zig-zag routes proposed by him. I was put into a condition like this when two of the cab drivers passing by my route had a very common opinion of not taking me to their cabs!! I was literally chucked out and stranded which led to some verbal exchange, and I finally ended up in one of those cabs and was dropped a bit far from my usual place.

Hopefully as time passes, these issues get sorted out and I have the doubts as why are these still prevailing!!

Cool!! Real picture of Cab Service!!

Even I used to face the same problem. Evenings, you need to really Pray for the Mercy of God (Cab Co-ordinator). If He is really impressed with your prayer, you can get down at your drop point. Or else you have to either walk or beg to the Crore Pathis or more precisely Legal Robbers, commonly called as Auto Drivers, for a journey of >1KM. You will have to give offerings to them, with what ever they ask.

One more funny thing i want to share is, Nowadays i can find my Cab Driver waiting for me in front of my room (with the cab) at around 7:30AM. My usual pick up time is 8:30 and 7:30 is my usual tea time just after my wake up time (my day usually starts by seeing the servant , who will wake me up by ringing the calling bell in a very unusual and irritating way...Dinggggggg..........Dong!!! huh!!!) After opening the door, i'll go out for tea. That time i see my cab driver. What a dedication!!!

Long live The God (Above mentioned ;-))

Arun, Go on posting. Excellent work!!! Keep Rocking!!!
