Noisy Pantry – And I am Working!

I was carefully pondering over the code for quite some time. As we have a release lined up the following week, everyone in my team is equally busy in fixing those last minute bugs and gearing up for the production release. I was expecting a breakthrough and a sudden roar of laughter toppled my train of thoughts. I couldn’t concentrate any more – and I am at loss of words to express the mounting anger.
I stood up and glanced at the noise prone area. As I guessed, it’s the pantry area in the ground floor, couple of aisles away from my cubicle. The place is meant for a quick coffee, off late, it has been more like a hangout place for discussions. The topics for these vary in proportions and accompanied by team members shouting and laughing, the decibel levels high above normal!!.
This is one scenario where no one is at fault. Irrespective of the teams they work for, almost everyone is equally good in this respect. I find quite helpless at these situations and continue my work with my headphones playing rock music keeping me away, though I feel pity for my fellow teammate who sits right opposite to this !
I think this can be considered bygone as there seems to be some construction work undertaken near the café area. It has been shifted to another location and I thank my stars!!!!
