Measure of Loss
Thursday, December 04, 2008As I gaze through my window sills
I see snow that fleets its way
Winging down like elves from sky
Cheering me to surge my mood
My mind rings of a tender tone
A caring voice that guides my heart
It’s when I think the loss I yield
Seeping truths when she’s not near
A million times in every week
Blinking thoughts with wind like gait
When I miss this diamond dove
A note from her or a gentle call
It’s not smile; nor a pretty face
A little dear, I adore my life
Not a teeming cheer that delves her in
A stellar being for my stifling throes
Yet I know, she would waft from me
Like the poles that drift in time
To an unknown land, a lane that’s far
To make me lone in drilling pain
Could I wish to hold her back?
It’s a content feel; a blissful mark
To see her more when I return back
To rerun dreams of being close
