Movie-Travel-Trouble !
Tuesday, October 23, 2007This happens to be another narration of a trip to Kerala, the mode of transport being bus. The only reason that I can attribute for using bus as contrary to train is mainly because of an early arrival at home, earning more sweet time with family. The private buses that ply in the routes provide loads of on board entertainment, be it movie or blaring music in lieu of steep fares. Movie is a ubiquitous choice and there would always be a pirated vcd of some recent flicks. Pretty customer oriented, I should say as they vouch to air the movie in its full form.
All these above mentioned add to the background of what happened to me in this recent trip. There was a movie in one of the south Indian languages and ostensibly new. The hero is an auto rickshaw driver by profession who is honest and decent and cannot stand anything against truth and values. He meets the heroine in many ‘crafted coincidental’ situations of which one occasion is when he helps out a kid to reach hospital on time. Needless to say, she is smitten by a slight crush which develops to love as she sees in him, a man of ideals. She finds herself with him; after all, being the daughter of a liquor baron she was in search of forlorn love.
Almost everyone in the bus were resenting to the flow of the movie, some even shouting. I thought this would lead to a happy conclusion of the movie, but I am no story writer as the director had other plans. By this, we were at our first pit stop. I sat and contemplated the sadly laid plot of the story, completely unaware of the unraveling. Enough emotions and tragedy were mellifluously injected and it became complicated. When we were back, the heroine was at the death bed, needing a heart transplant as she was crushed by a lorry in one of those happy mushy scenes with the hero. He goes to the extent of a hijack scene at the hospital as the expense of the operation is unbearable, and no hearts available as there was a Google search page displayed in its pompous form indicating this fact.
Well, the hero gives his heart, eventually sacrificing him and blah blah blah! I was completely agitated and annoyed as it took my sleep away. In any way, the journey was eventful, with a movie trouble.
