a fall !

A day off at the dawn of a week – last Tuesday fulfilled that wish as it was a holiday owing to Gandhi Jayanthi. As usual, multitude of plans were laid out in advance to make the most out of it, though the first thought that flashed into my mind was to stay idle and doze off. My roommates had brilliant ideas of meeting their friends and so on. This led me to be in a competitive mode, as I longed to do something!
I reflected on a trip being planned by couple of my colleagues. This was supposedly a medium complex trip, as opposed to the likings of avid trekkers. The place larked scenic beauty adjoining a waterhole, not far off from the city. But there happened to be a small twist in these premonitions; I had taken to fever-cough-cold syndrome on the eve of Monday and I dropped out, making me worthy of slight anger from the trip organizers. The day dawned to be a normal one, with me having no intentions to step out, barring the food requisites.
I headed for the neighboring food joint, a north Indian one, for my lunch. It was a comfortable place, redolent of home with food served hot and delicious, much disliked by my roomie. I sought a parcel of my favorite dishes and retreated. Slam! – Without realizing what really had happened, I was down. The entire world was upside and I lay there to the stare of all thronged in the restaurant. I grabbed my parcel and stood up with a no-problem look. I brushed it off as a simple slip though a slight pain was building up in my wrist as I held it for supporting my fall.
The pain became unbearable as I found trouble in lifting my right hand and needed a visit to the doctor. I sported a small wrist band to the office and duly answered the sympathetic inquiries from my colleagues, though I added some humorous tang to my replies. Well, things turned out to be fine as I am back to writing with my reenergized right hand.
