i need to read !

What should I read? A question to myself on my way back home after the usual office hours. A difficult one to find the answer to. Look around and one can find an array of books on all sort of topics – Fiction, Non Fiction, Philosophy, and the list goes on.
With this small thought, I quickly tried to recollect my reading habits. The kind of books I used to read, so it makes things easy...Just pick one of that kind and kindle the habit. The memories went back to my school days where I was an avid reader of comics. Then language was never a barrier to me. To say the truth, this only means I was interested in reading books in my mother tongue also.
I was a serious fan of Tintin, Asterix comics as well. I used to read them and never got up till I finished that. Now also, whenever I get a chance I grab a copy of them and read. I’m a bit sad in the fact that I never matured from comics to novels or any other books till the recent times. Somehow, I never got the interest to read any other genre of books in English.
But I continued my reading in Malayalam, thanks to my Mother, herself being a voracious reader. I get envious when my friends discuss the novels that they have read; commenting on the various aspects in the same. Hmm…I should start reading something.
Happened to read a non fiction last month – A book about the land of myths and beauty, our India. A book written about almost everything in India by an Australian lady who stayed here for a long time. Though initially it kind of irritated me as she portrays everything in the true sense, I kind of developed a respect towards the author.
The book is a real good example of state of things in our country. Though its not a spiritual or religious oriented book, it instills the purity of thought in an individual.
I’m pretty happy that I’m back to my reading habits in English, by virtue of this book. Now I stop by some bookshops when I’m free to see the latest releases. Just read the preface and may be buy a few to read!!!!
