Run run run

It was not a jog. And it had nothing to do with adding to my physical fitness. It was a run to catch a bus !! Everyone at some point in his life might have done this deed , either during studies to reach in time, to reach office in time etc.

Well, this happened two days back when i had to visit my hometown. My roommates used to pull my legs often saying that i plan things much in advance, reach some place much ahead of time and so on. So, to shut their mouth to some extent, i had this idea of reaching the bus station on time.

The bus was scheduled to be at 10.00 PM.It normally takes around 30 mins from my place to the bus stand. By virtue of my nature, i would have normally left around 8.30 itself. But this time due to the great reasons mentioned above, i left late. At 9.00 PM, i was at the bus stop.

And i decided i wouldn't take an auto due to two reasons - avoid unhealthy verbal arguments with the driver and it may fail my purpose as i may reach early. So, with all these calculations, i waited for a bus and it started raining heavily. There are buses every 5 minutes but that day i had to wait till 9.15 to get one and hopefully it was not that crowded and i managed to get a seat.

With a bit of happiness lingering in my mind, i was slowly going towards my destination. Then, about a little more than a kilometer away from the bus stand, to my surprise, i could see an array of vehicles being stationary. Vehicles were moving at snail's pace. There was an air of honks and people shouting..It was a scene of complete chaos. I was dumbfounded -- Though it should not be a deal of great tension as traffic jams happen every now and then.

To add on to the existing misery, my bus had a technical fault. I realized that its high time i take an alternate option. I alighted from the bus and then started my heroic run !!!

I began my laps - running between autorickshaws, two wheelers and between parked buses i somehow realized that i could make in time for the bus. And i don't remember who all shouted at me seeing me running. The muddy pools seemed nothing. I hardly had any time to admire the beauty of others passing by, in the drizzle.

Finally i reached the bus stand i was sweating all over in that cold evening. I developed spasms in my muscles but satisfied with the achievement --- i could get the bus :)) From now on, i feel i should plan my activities in my way and i don't wanna run again !!!
